More than blueprints and buildings - we're storytellers who happen to work with concrete and glass.
Started back in 2011 with three architects, two laptops, and way too much coffee. Now we're a team that actually gives a damn about making spaces that don't just look good in magazines.
Look, we've been doing this long enough to know that most architecture firms sound exactly the same. Everyone's "innovative" and "forward-thinking" and honestly, it gets old real quick.
Here's what actually matters - we started Frostarion Quinthor because we were tired of seeing buildings that ignored their environment. You know the type: massive glass towers that cost a fortune to cool, or "modern" homes that felt like living in an art gallery instead of, well, a home.
Our thing? We design spaces that work WITH nature, not against it. Passive solar that actually makes sense. Materials sourced locally because shipping marble from Italy for a Toronto condo is just wasteful. Green roofs that aren't just there for the Instagram photos.
We've messed up plenty along the way - learned what doesn't work through some expensive lessons - but that's kinda the point. Every project teaches us something new about how people actually use spaces versus how we think they will.
Projects that didn't drive our clients crazy
Awards we're actually proud of
The messy, non-linear path to where we are today
Three friends quit their corporate gigs to start something that didn't feel soul-crushing. Rented a tiny office above a bubble tea shop on Queen West. The AC didn't work but hey, we had dreams.
Landed a residential project in Yorkville that got featured in a magazine. Client took a chance on us even though we'd only done small renovations. That project opened doors we didn't even know existed.
Moved to our current Bay Street location. Hired our first full team. Almost went bankrupt when a commercial project fell through. Learned that growth isn't always smooth, and that's perfectly fine.
Pandemic hit. Like everyone else, we figured out Zoom real quick. But it also pushed us to rethink how spaces work - home offices that don't feel like cubicles, ventilation that actually matters, outdoor spaces people can actually use year-round.
Still learning, still growing. Now working on projects we couldn't have imagined back in that bubble tea shop office. The work's gotten bigger but we're trying to keep that same energy - designing stuff that matters.
Buildings should serve the people in them, not the architect's ego. If someone walks into a space and their first thought is "wow, what a great design" instead of just feeling comfortable, we've probably overdone it.
Yeah, we care about the environment. But we're not gonna lecture you about it. We just build things that make sense - better insulation saves money, natural light means lower power bills, materials that last mean less waste. It's pretty straightforward.
That cool detail you saw in Architectural Digest? Might not work in Toronto's climate. We design for where you actually are, not where some magazine thinks you should be.
You know your needs way better than we do. Our job is to translate that into something buildable. Which means actually listening, not just nodding while planning to do what we wanted anyway.
No corporate headshots or rehearsed bios - just the crew
Principal Architect & Co-Founder
Been sketching buildings since he was eight. Spent five years at a big firm before realizing he hated it. Now designs spaces people actually want to be in. Drinks too much espresso, rides his bike everywhere, and has strong opinions about window placement.
Principal Designer & Co-Founder
Came from an interior design background which means she actually thinks about how people move through spaces. Obsessed with materials and textures. Will spend hours finding the right shade of grey. Somehow makes sustainability look effortless.
Urban Planning Lead & Co-Founder
The guy who thinks about how buildings fit into neighborhoods. Used to work in city planning, got frustrated with bureaucracy. Believes good architecture should make the whole street better, not just one lot. Annoyingly good at navigating zoning bylaws.
Senior Architect
Technical wizard who makes sure our wild ideas actually stand up. Expert in BIM, structural systems, and telling us when something won't work.
Sustainability Consultant
Environmental science background. Runs all the energy models. Keeps us honest about our green claims. Grows vegetables on his balcony.
Interior Space Designer
Makes interiors that don't look like hotel lobbies. Believes every room should have at least one unexpected element. Master of lighting design.
Project Manager
Keeps everything on track. Somehow stays calm when contractors call with "issues." Previously worked in construction, knows every trick in the book.
We're always up for a good project. No corporate pitch meetings required - just bring your ideas and we'll figure out if we're a good fit over coffee.
